How do I start a charging session at a public charging station?

This article applies to all electric vehicles.

To charge at a public station, you must unlock and authenticate it. Available methods depend on the station.

If the station is part of the Porsche Charging Service, you can unlock it with the app:

Open the My Porsche app and log in.

Go to  Map and enter your location.

Tap  Show charging stations.

Select the desired station.

Tap the name/address box.

Choose the correct plug type.

Tap the corresponding EVSE-ID to start charging.

Tips:

An EVSE-ID with a cell phone icon means the station can be unlocked via the app. If no icon is shown, the station isn’t part of the Porsche Charging Service and must be activated another way.

Ensure the app is updated and your phone has a strong connection for smooth operation.

Plug & Charge simplifies charging by allowing you to start sessions automatically by inserting the charging plug into your car.

How to confirm Plug & Charge compatibility:

Use the My Porsche app to locate a station and check for the Plug & Charge icon.

Starting the charging process

Once authenticated, follow the on-screen instructions at the station. If not already plugged in, connect the charging cable to your car to begin charging.
