How does Wireless Charging work in the Cayenne Electric?
With the optional Porsche Wireless Charging, charging your vehicle at home becomes as easy as parking. After positioning your Cayenne Electric over the floor plate and activating Park mode, the charging process starts automatically.
Note: Porsche Wireless Charging Preparation is standard equipment in the UK, meaning that Wireless Charging can be retrofitted at any time. Specifications in other markets may vary.

Function
Porsche Wireless Charging enables inductive charging of the high-voltage battery with up to 11 kW (AC). Power is transferred wirelessly between the Porsche Wireless Charging floor plate and the vehicle plate integrated into the vehicle. Communication between the car and the floor plate is also wireless.
For initial set-up, the floor plate must be connected to the vehicle once. This is carried out via the PCM. To do this, available floor plates in the vehicle’s vicinity are displayed, one floor plate is selected, and the password from the Installation Quick Guide is entered. After pairing, the vehicle automatically recognises the floor plate. Multiple floor plates can be paired.
When approaching, the standard Automatic Parking with 2D Surround View supports you with positioning aids on the display. Once the correct position is reached and Park (P) is engaged, the charging process starts automatically.
A multi‑level safety concept continuously monitors the charging area: Foreign Object Detection (FOD) detects metallic objects and prevents charging from starting. Living Object Protection (LOP) immediately stops power transfer if people or animals enter the charging zone and automatically resumes the process once the area is clear.
The floor plate is pressure resistant and can be driven over. It may be placed freely or permanently mounted to the ground. Electrical installation must be carried out by a qualified electrician.
Settings
In the vehicle, you activate and manage Porsche Wireless Charging via the Porsche Communication Management (PCM) in the Charge section.
There, you can view paired floor plates, select them, or add new ones.
Additional settings and status information are available in the My Porsche app. After the initial pairing in the vehicle, the floor plate can be linked to your Porsche ID and managed in the app. The floor plate is online by default via LTE. If LTE is not available at the installation site, it can optionally be connected to a local Wi‑Fi network.
