How to use the Porsche Security Code

The Porsche security code allows you to operate your vehicle remotely via Remote Services in the My Porsche app.

This article applies to:

911 model years 2022 - present

Macan Electric model years 2024 - present

Panamera model years 2022 - present

Taycan model years 2020 - present

How to set the security code

Create a four-digit security code in the My Porsche app for enhanced security, which is required for remote unlocking, or setting Car Security mode

Log into My Porsche

Click the person icon on the top right-hand corner of the screen and then Profile Settings

Click Login & Security

Click Create security code

Enter your selected four-digit code twice and click Save

How to change the security code

Log into My Porsche

Click the person icon on the top right corner then Profile Settings

Click Login & Security

In the Security Code section, click Change your security code

Enter the current security code, then the new code twice

Click Save

When changing the security code, security-relevant services will be temporarily blocked. To reactivate, enable remote access automation in the Porsche Communication Management (PCM), then pair the My Porsche app with your vehicle again.

I’ve forgotten my security code

If you forget your security code, you’ll need to reset it, which also requires a PCM factory reset, deleting previous settings. Reset steps:

Reset the security code in My Porsche

Perform a factory reset in the PCM

Create a new Security code in My Porsche

Once created, log into your vehicle as the primary user (i.e., vehicle owner) and grant remote access to your car by entering the new security code Remote access is now enabled.

What is the vehicle code used for?

The vehicle code, currently for the Macan Electric only, is a four-digit PIN alternative to the security code, protecting data stored in the car. This code cannot be reset. If lost, access to settings requires a PCM Factory reset.

How to set the vehicle code in your PCM:

To set the vehicle code in PCM:

Settings > Security (enter your security code if set)

Select Set vehicle code

Enter the new code and click OK

The security code is the primary authentication for certain remote services in the My Porsche app, like the Unlock feature.

Please be aware that removing the security code from the PCM login means anyone with a car key can access your PCM and potentially view personal data, including address information and third-party app details, or change settings.

To set or remove the security code from login for:

911 model year 2022 – Present

Panamera model year 2022 – Present

Taycan model year 2020 – Present

Cayenne model year 2022 – Present

1. When on the PCM home screen, tap your name at the top of the screen.

2. Select Accounts from the drop-down menu.

3. Tap the Three Dots next to your account name.

4. Select Login With Security Code or Login Without Security Code.

For Maycan Electric model year 2024 – Present:

1. When on the PCM home screen, tap your name at the top of the screen.

2. Select your account.

3. Select Change Login Security Settings.

4. Select None or Security Code to set or remove the security.
