How to resolve issues with Remote Services in the My Porsche app

Porsche Connect Remote Services let you control certain vehicle functions and view vehicle data through the My Porsche app. For example, you can check your car’s battery level or fuel range, tire pressures and data from previous trips. You can also control functions like cabin temperature, locking or unlocking the doors and setting location or speed alerts.

Available features vary by model, year, equipment and location. Check the Porsche Connect Store for details specific to your car.

This article applies to all models

Prerequisites for using remote services

Before you can use remote services, make sure you have completed the steps outlined in the article How can I link my Porsche ID with my car?

Please note that your app functionality is dependent on your car’s model, model year and equipment. Check the Porsche Connect Store for more details and prices specific to your car.

For Remote Services, your vehicle must be linked to your Porsche ID, and you must have an active Porsche Connect subscription. If you haven’t yet granted remote access, a notification will appear on your app’s home screen. If you are a secondary user, ensure that the main user has set up your access to the app.

Occasionally, remote functions may not work if privacy mode is activated. In this case, you’ll be notified with a shield icon on the home screen of your My Porsche app. For details on turning privacy mode off, refer to What is the privacy mode and what is it used for?

If your Porsche Connect Services have not been activated or have expired, you will be notified about the missing services in your checklist on the home screen of the My Porsche app. Follow the link in the checklist or navigate to the Connect Store to activate the available services.

Sometimes refreshing or reinstalling the My Porsche app can resolve issues.

Ensure the app is up to date by checking your smartphone's app store Refresh the app, or uninstall and reinstall it if issues persist

Make sure you have a stable internet connection on your phone and in your car. Connection status can be seen in the My Porsche app’s home screen, above the vehicle name.

If you recently reset your security code, it can disconnect Remote Services, as it unlinks your Porsche ID from the car. For more, see How to use the Porsche Security Code?
