State of Charge
With increasing State of Charge (SoC), the battery management system limits the input power to avoid damages in your cell. Peak power can be achieved with low SoCs of around 10%. Hence, the ideal charging session is a curve, not a bar.
Infrastructure
Make sure you choose charging sites with peak power >320kW (Macan Electric: 270kW).
On the map in the Porsche Communication Management (PCM) infotainment system and My Porsche app you can find the required information on every charging point:
In your car’s PCM:
Nearby charging stations will be displayed on a charging map.
In the My Porsche app:
When the charging station address is displayed you can click on it to get more details. You can also send the destination to your car by clicking the corresponding button.
Powershare
In many cases, chargers split their peak power as soon as more than one car starts charging at the same time. If possible, keep as much distance as possible between you and other vehicles in a charging park to avoid having to share peak power with others.
Battery temperature
Your car monitors the temperature of your high-voltage battery constantly. If the battery is too cold or gets too hot then charging power will be limited by the battery management system of your car in order to avoid damage to the battery cells. You can find the actual and ideal battery temperature in the combi-cluster of your car.
