How do I update and check my Porsche charging hardware?

How can I check for Porsche charging hardware software updates?

Porsche Wallbox software updates 

You can view the current software status and manage the settings for software updates for your Porsche Wallbox, via the My Porsche app.

Please follow these steps: 

To help ensure the most efficient software update process, please make sure your Porsche Wallbox is online (via mobile data – data volume is included – wi-fi or ethernet). Ensuring that your Porsche Wallbox is online and synced with the My Porsche app means that its full set of functions is enabled. Under the tab Account in your My Porsche app, select Charging equipment. Scroll down the list to find your respective wallbox.  Once you tap on Equipment settings you’ll see information about the installed software version as well as the availability of software updates.  

The function ‘automatic software update’ displayed below is enabled by default. When this feature is enabled, software updates will be downloaded and installed automatically. If the function is turned off, the installed software version will be displayed. By clicking on it, software updates may be triggered manually.  

If you want to update the software status of your wallbox while it’s offline, head to the Porsche website, where you can you access a download link and an Installation Guide. 

Porsche Mobile Charger Connect and Porsche Home Energy Manager software updates 

You can check if there’s a new software update available for the Porsche Mobile Charger Connect and the Porsche Home Energy Manager on the Porsche website. You can compare your software version with the latest version that’s detailed on the website via the equipment settings section of the My Porsche app (Account > Charging equipment > Select your hardware > Equipment settings).  

Where can I find the model and serial number of my charging devices?

Each charging device has a seven-digit long serial number printed on it, starting with the letters ‘SN’. You can find the serial number either on the back or the side of the nameplate. The name of the charging hardware model itself can also be found here.

How can I check for service measures or recalls on my Porsche charging hardware?

You can check if there’s a service measure or recall campaign for your Porsche charging hardware at the Porsche website by selecting your hardware model and entering the serial number of your device. If you need additional information, please contact your Porsche Centre.
