Plug & Charge J1 - FAQs

How do I skip Plug & Charge authorisation if I don’t want to use it?

If you want to bypass Plug & Charge, two options are available:

First, you can authenticate at the charger before plugging in. For instance, if you use a credit card, then the charging session is activated with the card, and Plug & Charge won’t conflict with existing authorization. This is useful if a single session needs to be authorized differently.Secondly, you can deactivate Plug & Charge in your car’s PCM.

Can I uninstall an installed contract certificate?

Yes, using the My Porsche app:

Open the app and log in. Select your car under Vehicle Details.Tap Functions > Charging > Settings icon (top right). Select Uninstall Plug & Charge certificate. Confirm the prompt to uninstall.

Alternatively:

From the home screen, tap the battery icon (state of charge and range). Tap the settings icon and select Uninstall Plug & Charge certificate.

Factory resets also delete all user data, including the certificate. If selling your car, cancel the Charging Service to prevent automatic certificate reinstallation.
