The Porsche Digital Key is a digital car key on your mobile device that you can use to lock, unlock and start your Porsche conveniently and securely. You can also share the digital key securely with others, making access easy and flexible.

To switch your main key:
When you sell your car, please unpair your Porsche Digital Key. This will also remove all shared keys. You can do so through the following methods:

Make sure both your phone and your car are online.
If you unpair the key remotely, make sure no one is inside the car, as they can be locked in.

You can remove a shared key through your car’s PCM or through the Wallet** app of your mobile phone.

Your Porsche Digital Key works using Bluetooth Low Energy with Ultra-Wideband (UWB) or Near Field Communication (NFC) Technology, depending on your device.
You can also lock or unlock your car using the Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) buttons in the Wallet** app or the My Porsche app.

The Porsche Digital Key Card is a physical backup key. It’s mainly intended for temporary situations — such as a breakdown, valet parking or workshop visits.

You can check whether the card is currently activated or deactivated in the PCM or My Porsche app:

The Porsche Digital Key Card will automatically deactivate when you start your car with either your digital key or physical key.

The Porsche Digital Key uses either Ultra-Wideband (UWB) or Near Field Communication (NFC), depending on the device.
*These phones support only NFC and Remote Keyless Entry via Bluetooth Low Energy. To unlock your vehicle, a physical tap on the door handle is needed or the use of the Car Control Buttons within the Wallet** app. Please note that the Car Control Buttons option is not available on iPhone 16e, XR, SE (2022). To start the car, these phones must be placed on the phone cradle.

Yes, you can still unlock and start your car in this instance. Some supported phones — such as iPhone or Android devices— have a power reserve mode. This allows your phone to communicate with the car via NFC, and on some UWB-enabled models, for a short time after the battery runs out.
An internet connection is only needed for activation, management, and sharing of the Porsche Digital Key. Once the key is installed on your phone, you can lock, unlock, and start your car without the internet.
Currently, you cannot set a time limit for a shared Porche Digital Key. To end access, you must manually revoke the key.

You can do this in the PCM of your car. On the home screen select Porsche Digital Key > Manage>move the toggle button for ‘Porsche Digital Key’ to the left>Confirm. All issued keys remain valid but cannot be used while deactivated. To reactivate, move the toggle back to the right.
The Porsche Digital Key is securely stored on the secure element of your mobile device. In addition, both NFC and UWB technology are used to establish the immediate proximity of the sender and receiver in a tamper-proof manner.
Separate digital keys for each car can be created and are managed in the Wallet** app of your mobile device.
Yes. Even if your car is equipped with the Porsche Digital Key, you will still receive a physical key. It offers you the full range of functions and serves as a practical spare key when using the Porsche Digital Key as your main key.
Before selling your car, unpair your mobile device to remove all digital keys:
The new owner will need to set up the Porsche Digital Key on their own device, following the setup instructions above.
