How do I operate the tailgate and the bonnet on the Taycan?
Whether for luggage, shopping, or loading equipment, the Taycan offers storage space in both the front and rear of the vehicle. Larger items can be stored in the rear luggage compartment, while smaller or more fragile items can be stowed in the front luggage compartment.

Tailgate Operation
The tailgate can be opened and closed using the following options:
Tailgate Operation with Porsche Entry (optional)
With the optional Porsche Entry (also known as Comfort Access), the tailgate can be opened or closed via a foot gesture in the sensor area of the vehicle. Move your foot in a fluid kicking motion towards the bumper and back again without touching it. Alternatively, you can position your foot to the side under the bumper, whichever is more convenient for you.
The vehicle key must be in the immediate vicinity.
This requires activation in the PCM:
Settings > Car > Vehicle Locking Systems > Comfort Opening Tailgate
To close the tailgate, move your foot slightly in the sensor area again. Then leave the area of the tailgate within 10 seconds, otherwise it will not close. After you have left the area, a signal tone sounds and the tailgate closes.
Adjusting the Opening Height of the Tailgate
You can individually adjust the opening height of the tailgate, for example if you have a low ceiling height or if a roof transport system is fitted.
An acoustic signal confirms the set opening height.
Bonnet Operation
Open via:
The bonnet must always be closed manually.
Bonnet Operation with Porsche Entry (optional)
With the optional Porsche Entry (also known as Comfort Access), the front luggage compartment can be opened using a hand gesture. Move your hand briefly between the Porsche crest and the licence plate holder to unlock the bonnet. Lift it up and release the safety lock.
Make sure you have your car key with you. Swipe your hand close enough to the front bumper, less than 5 cm away, so that the vehicle can recognise the movement.
The bonnet must always be closed manually.
Procedure in the Event of a Flat Onboard Battery
If the 12 V onboard power supply battery is discharged, an emergency power supply is required to open it. Further information can be found in the Owner’s Manual.
