What is a passkey and how can I use it for my Porsche ID?

A passkey is a modern, secure way to sign in without using a traditional password. It’s unique to your device and your account, combining convenience with the highest level of protection. Passkeys are also available for your Porsche ID, offering a seamless and secure way to access your digital services. 

How do passkeys work? 

When you sign up or log in to a supported service or application such as the My Porsche app and choose to use a passkey, your device generates a private key and a public key. The private key proves your identity and stays securely on your device. The public key is stored securely by the service (e.g., Porsche ID system). No password is ever transmitted, making sign-in seamless and secure.
