What is the Breakdown Call feature and how does it work?

To use the Breakdown Call feature, activate the Connect or Connect Care Package for your Porsche in the Connect Store. Once activated, you can initiate a Breakdown Call via a soft key in the Porsche Communication Management (PCM) infotainment system in your car or through the My Porsche app (see details below). Real-time data transmission means our Roadside Assistance, which supports you in the case of a break down, can provide you with prompt and personalised advice and assistance when you need it.

To ensure that Porsche Roadside Assistance can support you effectively, data is transmitted from your car including, for example, the vehicle identification number and your current location. This data is stored for a maximum of 24 hours. If you’ve activated privacy mode, the data transmission is disabled, but you can still call Porsche Roadside Assistance.

The licence for the Porsche Breakdown Call feature lasts for 10 years. During this period, Porsche Assistance will support you in the event of a breakdown when you initiate the Breakdown Call. If you don’t have a valid new car warranty or Porsche Approved warranty with Mobility Guarantee, you can still receive support, such as a tow truck, but at your own expense.

The availability of the Breakdown Call service may vary depending on your region.

Frequently asked questions

No, the Emergency Call service is always active, even if Porsche Connect Care isn’t activated. This applies to cars manufactured after 31 March 2018.

Breakdown Call is the right option if you break down, have a fault with your car that’s preventing you from continuing your journey or if you are unsure whether it’s possible to continue your journey. In general, Breakdown Call offers the possibility to assist you if you discover a problem with your car, such as an active warning message on the instrument cluster.

Please note, Breakdown Call is not an Emergency Call service. In the event of a serious accident or personal injury, please use Emergency Call immediately.
