What is Adaptive Cruise Control in the Taycan?

The Adaptive Cruise Control dynamically adjusts your speed to the traffic situation. The system accelerates and brakes the vehicle and, if necessary, keeps it in the flow of traffic until it comes to a standstill with the stop-and-go function.

Adaptive Cruise Control operates in the speed range from approx. 12 mph to 131 mph, providing greater comfort and relief, especially on motorways and in heavy traffic.

Tip: For more information and the limitations of the system, please refer to the online Owner's Manual.

Function

The system continuously monitors traffic using radar and camera sensors.

In addition to automatic distance control, the range of functions includes:

Turn Assist: Monitors oncoming traffic when turning left and can provide support within the system limits by issuing a warning or applying the brakes. Emergency Stop Function: Brings the vehicle to a standstill if the driver no longer responds. Visual and acoustic warnings, a brief tightening of the seat belt and a jolt of the brakes prompt the driver to take control. If there is no response, the vehicle stops in a controlled manner, activates the hazard warning lights and makes an emergency call (depending on the country-specific infrastructure). Evasion Assistant: Assists with steering movements when the driver wants to avoid an obstacle. Distance Warning: Detects insufficient distance in the range of approx. 40 - 155 mph and displays a warning in the instrument cluster. Reversible Occupant Protection Measures: Activates preventive protection functions when emergency braking or a collision risk is detected.

Note: All functions operate within physical and technical system limits and require constant monitoring by the driver.
