What is the Porsche Security Code?
You will need a security code to operate certain functions that allow you to control your car remotely.
You can create a four-digit pin for the security code, which is required for enhanced security, in My Porsche. You will need to enter it into the My Porsche app (Apple App Store/Google Play Store) if, for example, you want to remotely unlock your car or perhaps set the special modes for Car Security.
Additionally, for some models, you will need a security code to successfully log in with your Porsche ID in the car (more details).

I’ve forgotten my security code
If you’ve forgotten your security code, you can reset it. Depending on whether the car login is protected with a security code, different processes apply:
If you haven’t protected your car login with the security code:
If you have protected your car login with the security code:
As Main User
There are four steps required to create a new security code.
As secondary user
If you are a secondary user, no factory reset is required. Please ask your main user (usually the car owner) to activate your user again in My Porsche.
What is the vehicle code used for?
The vehicle code, currently only available for some models*, is a PIN that serves as an alternative to the security code for access protection in your car. The vehicle code protects your locally stored data in the car. The vehicle code cannot be reset. If it’s lost, you will no longer be able to access your settings. In order to access the vehicle settings again, you’ll need to perform a PCM Factory reset if you are the main user. Secondary users can be deleted and activated by the main user.
How to set the vehicle code in your PCM:
Note that the security code is, by default, the primary authentication method. It’s required for certain remote services via the My Porsche app, such as the Unlock feature.
