What is a secondary user and how can I add it for my Porsche?

As the owner (main user) of a Porsche, you can enable other persons – e.g., family members – as secondary users (additional drivers) for your car and its Connect Service. Each secondary user then gets their own Porsche ID and can configure the services according to their personal preferences.

Functions available to a secondary user

Secondary users have access to all Connect Services activated by the primary user, including Remote Services and Car Security, via My Porsche.

Connect Services: Secondary users can access features like music streaming and Navigation Plus with real-time traffic updates

Remote Services: Allows users to remotely check vehicle data, lock/unlock the car, control preconditioning functions and locate the vehicle

Personal Preferences: Secondary users can save settings like preferred radio stations and seat positions

Note: Service availability varies by model and model year.

How can I add a secondary user?

The main user can add up to five secondary users for one car. First name, last name, email address and a valid cell phone number must be provided for a new secondary user. Before adding secondary users, you will need to log in to the car as the main user.

Step 1: Main user

My Porsche app

Open the My Porsche app (Apple App Store/Google Play Store) (login required)

Tap the Garage icon on the top right-hand corner

Tap on your car

Tap Add/manage secondary user

Tap Add secondary user and follow the instructions

Click the person icon on the top right-hand corner of the screen

Click Profile Settings

Click Secondary user

Click Add secondary user and follow the instructions

Go to  Profile Settings

Click  Secondary user

Select  Add secondary user  and follow the instructions

Step 2: Secondary user

Once you have been added as a secondary user, you will receive an email. Click the link Activate your Porsche account.

Next, click Request confirmation code. The code will be sent by text message to the cell phone number provided by the main user. Please note: if the text message code has been requested several times, only the latest text message code is valid. The text message code is valid for 12 hours

Enter the received code

Set your password and click Save password

For some models, you will need to define a security code for the car as a final step. Once the secondary user has completed this process, the main user is informed by email and a notification in My Porsche of the final step.

Step 3: Main user

Click the link Activate secondary user (this is only relevant if a security code was defined by the secondary user).

How can I remove a secondary user?

As a main user, you can remove previously added secondary users.
