How to install or uninstall Functions on Demand in your Porsche Taycan

Functions on Demand are services for your Taycan that you can purchase after delivery of your vehicle and activate over the air.

How can I buy Functions on Demand?

You can view available Functions on Demand for your vehicle in the Connect Store. To purchase, select the desired function, add it to your cart and complete the purchase process.

As of September 2024, Functions on Demand are offered as a one-time payment for unlimited use. Monthly contracts are no longer available. Existing monthly contracts will remain active until canceled.

How do I activate Functions on Demand in my vehicle after purchase?

To activate a purchased Function on Demand feature in your vehicle, please follow these steps carefully. Note: Once started, the installation process cannot be interrupted, so we recommend doing this while parked at home or visiting a Porsche dealership where you can enjoy service center amenities during the process. Estimated installation time will be provided in your PCM.

Check for PCM Notification: When your Porsche Communication Management (PCM) system notifies you that a Function on Demand is available, proceed with activation.

Prepare Your Vehicle: Park your car with the parking brake engaged.

Ensure Active Data Connection: Confirm your Taycan is connected to data and that Privacy Mode is turned off.

Turn Off the Vehicle: Press the start button for at least one second to fully turn off the car.

Review Installation Details: You will receive information about start prevention and estimated installation time.

Exit and Lock the Car: Leave the vehicle and lock it to begin the installation process.

Important: Once installation starts, it cannot be canceled. Make sure you're ready for the process to complete before initiating it.

Check Installation Status: After installation completes, restart your Taycan. You’ll receive a confirmation message in your PCM indicating the feature was successfully installed.

Additional Notes:

Install any pending security updates before starting; otherwise, installation will not proceed.

Make sure the car isn’t connected to a charging station, as installation will not start while actively charging.

How do I cancel and deactivate a Function on Demand monthly subscription?

If you no longer need a Function on Demand or if you sell your car, you can cancel the monthly contract.

Please note that since September 2024, monthly subscriptions for Functions on Demand are unavailable. After canceling an active monthly contract, you can only purchase a Function on Demand for unlimited use with a one-time payment.

Step 1: Cancel your monthly Function on Demand contract in the Connect Store

Log into My active contracts in the Connect Store \

Click Cancel contract for the Function on Demand you wish to deactivate

The contract end date is then displayed on the My active contracts page, and you will receive a confirmation email

Step 2: Uninstall the Function on Demand in the PCM of your Taycan

At the end of the contract, the Function on Demand will be automatically removed from your vehicle. Follow these steps to ensure a smooth uninstallation:

Ensure Privacy Mode is off

Confirm connectivity is available

Engage the parking brake

Make sure the car is not charging

You will be billed as soon as you activate the function in your vehicle.
