What do I need to use Apple CarPlay?

To use Apple CarPlay, you need:

An iPhone® 5 or later with iOS® 13 or later

Bluetooth®, Wi-Fi, Siri® and Apple® CarPlay enabled in your iPhone settings

If connecting with a cable, use an undamaged Apple cable without a USB adapter

How can I set-up Apple CarPlay?

Wireless Apple CarPlay is available for the following models with the latest software version:

Option 1

Make sure Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are enabled on your iPhone. Open Settings > Bluetooth and keep the screen open for the next steps.

Tap Devices on the PCM home screen.

Tap Connect new devices > Connect Apple CarPlay. Alternatively, tap the Apple CarPlay icon to start the search.

Follow the instructions shown on the PCM and your phone.

Option 2

Make sure Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are enabled on your iPhone.

On your iPhone, open Settings > General > CarPlay.

How can I Operate Apple CarPlay Using Siri?

To use Apple CarPlay with Siri, make sure that:

Siri is enabled in your iPhone settings.

Your car’s ignition and the PCM are switched on.

You aren’t in an active phone call.

The parking assistant isn’t active.

PCM voice control isn’t active.

Start Siri in one of these ways:

Press and hold the voice control button (see image below). It's on the steering wheel for 911, Panamera, Taycan, Macan Electric and Cayenne Electric, and on the control stalk for Cayenne.

Say the wake-up phrase “Hey Siri” (if enabled in Siri settings on your iPhone).

Press and hold the Home/Dashboard button (see image below).

To end Siri:

When Siri is active and waiting for a voice command, press the voice control button on the steering wheel. You’ll hear a tone fade out.

What should I do if I have connection issues with wireless Apple CarPlay?

To ensure an optimal wireless connection, make sure your iPhone has the latest version of iOS installed.

If you encounter issues, try reconnecting Apple CarPlay via the Devices menu in the PCM or enabling flight mode on your iPhone and then reconnecting. To reconnect wirelessly, go to Devices in the PCM and press the Apple CarPlay icon for your iPhone.

For persistent connection problems, remove the vehicle from the Bluetooth menu on your iPhone and delete the iPhone from the PCM. To delete, tap Devices on the home screen, select the relevant phone, swipe left, and tap the trash can icon to unpair. Reconnect your iPhone and vehicle before relaunching CarPlay.

What should I do if wired Apple CarPlay isn’t working?

If wired Apple CarPlay isn’t working, try the following:

Use an Apple‑supported USB cable.

Check that the USB ports in your car and on your iPhone are clean and free of dust or dirt.

Check that your iPhone charges when connected. If it does, the cable and connection are working.

Unplug and reconnect the cable if necessary.

How can I use wireless Apple CarPlay with multiple drivers and different iPhones?

You can connect more than one iPhone to Apple CarPlay in your car, making it easy for different drivers to use their own phone and apps when they get in. See above for details on connecting an iPhone wirelessly.

How to choose which iPhone to use

On the PCM home screen, tap Devices.

Tap the Apple CarPlay icon for the iPhone you want to use.

Apple CarPlay starts automatically.

How do I switch to wired Apple CarPlay if I’m already using wireless CarPlay®?

To switch from wireless to wired Apple CarPlay, follow these steps:

Remove the existing pairing:

On your iPhone, go to Settings > Bluetooth and remove your car.

On the PCM home screen, tap Devices to open the Device Manager. Select your iPhone, swipe left on the entry, then tap the bin icon to delete the device.

Plug your iPhone into one of the front USB ports using a USB‑C or Lightning cable.

Accept the Apple CarPlay prompts on both your iPhone and PCM.

On your iPhone, select “Use USB only” when prompted. This ensures future connections remain wired.

How do I use the My Porsche app in Apple CarPlay?

“My Porsche in Apple CarPlay” lets you control several car features without leaving the Apple CarPlay interface on your central display, including:

Selected car functions, such as climate settings

Audio and sound settings, such as radio favorites

Functions outside the Apple ecosystem, without switching screens

Personalized shortcuts for quicker access while driving

This feature is available in the 911, Taycan, Panamera and Cayenne from model years 2023-2026 with the latest software version.

How do I set up “My Porsche in Apple CarPlay”?

Connect your iPhone to Apple CarPlay using the instructions above.

Open the My Porsche app on your phone.

If you have more than one car, tap your car’s name and select the correct one.

On the home screen, scroll down and tap My Porsche in Apple CarPlay.

Tap Get Started.

You’ll see an overview of the available spaces, where you can place your favorite functions for quick access on your central display.

All changes are updated in Apple CarPlay in real time.
