With the Timer function, you can customise the charging process to suit your needs, whether directly from your car or via the My Porsche app. You can choose between time-controlled or location-based charging. The departure timer function is only available when charging with alternating current (AC).

Use the departure timer to reach your desired charge level by your planned departure time. The timer also preconditions your car for a specific time.
Please note that, depending on the model/model year of your car, there may be slight differences in how the buttons in the steps below are described.
Once activated, the car will ensure that the desired state of charge is reached by the departure time and the charging process will stop.
Tip: to delete a departure timer, swipe from right to left on the corresponding timer.

If the car is within 820 feet of the address and is plugged in, the charging process starts automatically.
Please note:
If you have compatible smart charging/energy management hardware, you can also use Optimized Charging. In this case, ensure that Plug & Charge is enabled: Tap Charging in your PCM and next tap Overview and Settings (gear icon at bottom right). Then enable Plug & Charge.
At some public charging stations, the charging process can’t be started if a departure timer is activated. In this case, the direct charge function can be activated via the PCM or the My Porsche app. The high-voltage battery will then be charged to 100%, regardless of the timer.
