Thanks to large‑language‑model technology, the voice assistant understands more detailed commands, enabling dialogues with follow‑up questions and more conversational interactions. It processes search queries (e.g., about the weather, sports news or the current traffic situation) and incorporates contextual data. After initial set-up, it is ready to respond without the need for manual activation via the button on the steering wheel.

In the Cayenne Electric and all future models, the AI functionality is already available without requiring any updates.

Activation of the Voice Pilot’s AI

To use the AI-enhanced Voice Pilot in your Macan, you first need to update the existing Voice Pilot via the App Centre in your car’s Porsche Communication Management (PCM) infotainment system. You can install the update in one of the following two ways:

Update path 1: Via Notifications

On the home screen of your PCM, tap Notifications.

Select the Voice Pilot with AI Update notification.

Read through the updated terms of use and further information.

Tap Update and follow the on‑screen instructions that guide you through the installation process.

After the installation is complete, open the Voice Pilot settings to configure your preferences.

Update path 2: Via App Centre

On the home screen of your PCM, tap App Centre.

Tap My account at the top of the screen.

Under ‘Available updates’ tap Voice Pilot with AI Update.

Read through the updated terms of use and further information.

On the next screen, tap Update and follow the on‑screen instructions that guide you through the installation process.

After the installation is complete, open the Voice Pilot settings to configure your preferences.

Please note: If you reset your PCM to factory settings, you will need to install the update again.

No. After the update is installed, the Voice Pilot is available only in a single AI-enhanced version and cannot differ between individual users in the car.

The AI feature is available in all markets where Voice Pilot is offered as part of the Porsche Connect Services (except Taiwan, Korea, Japan, China and Hong Kong).

The AI enhanced Voice Pilot is currently available only in the Macan Electric and Cayenne Electric. For the Cayenne Electric, no additional update is required.

In the welcome wizard, you can choose whether you want to use the “Hey Porsche” feature. This setting will be stored on a per-user basis. In guest mode, the user has to give their consent by explicitly enabling “Hey Porsche” on each start-up; the setting will not be retained for guest users. You can always deactivate the “Hey Porsche” feature in the voice pilot settings menu. The voice pilot will only then listen when you manually activate it via the button on the steering wheel.
