The Porsche Digital Key is a digital car key on your mobile device that you can use to lock, unlock and start your Porsche conveniently and securely. You can also share the digital key securely with others, making access easy and flexible.

To use the Porsche Digital Key, please ensure that the following prerequisites are met before you start the pairing process.
Before using the Porsche Digital Key, you - as car owner - need to first set up your mobile phone as the digital main key. With this key you can then share and manage additional digital keys. You can set up a new main digital key in your car via either the My Porsche app or the welcome email.
If you have a new mobile phone, you can transfer the master digital key to your new mobile phone. This way, already shared keys will remain valid. You can do this in the Porsche Communication Management (PCM) of your car:
When you sell your car, please unpair your Porsche Digital Key. When you do this, all shared digital keys will also be deleted. There are a number of ways of doing this:

Ensure that your mobile device and car are online. If unpairing is triggered remotely via the My Porsche App, please make sure no one is inside the car at that time, as they could potentially be locked in.

If you want to end the sharing of a key, you - as the main user - can delete it via your car’s PCM or via the Wallet app of your mobile phone.

The Porsche Digital Key uses either Bluetooth Low Energy in combination with Ultra-Wideband (UWB) or Near Field Communication (NFC) Technology, depending on your mobile device. In addition, it is possible to lock/unlock the car by using the Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) buttons within the Wallet app or the My Porsche app. Please verify which method is supported by your mobile device by referring to section ‘Compatible mobile devices’ below.
With UWB and Bluetooth activated on your mobile device, you can lock, unlock and start your car without taking your mobile device out of your bag or pocket:
In addition, you can open and close the doors if you’re within the Bluetooth range of your car – around 80 metres. To do so, tap on the Porsche Digital Key icon in the My Porsche app to access the overview page of the Porsche Digital Key.

When you're within Bluetooth range of your car, you can lock and unlock it using either the Wallet app or the My Porsche app (tap the Porsche Digital Key icon on the home screen).
The Porsche Digital Key Card is a physical card that serves as an extension to the Porsche Digital Key. Its main purpose is to provide an additional key which can be activated temporarily – e.g., if you've had a breakdown, when using a valet service or visiting a workshop. The card is handed out upon delivery of your car. In case of loss, please contact your local Porsche Centre.
The Porsche Digital Key Card must be activated beforehand and can then be used to unlock, lock and start the car.
It’s recommended that you keep the deactivated Porsche Digital Key Card in your car so that you have it available in case of a breakdown, for example. An activated card must not be stored in the car.

To open the car, hold the Porsche Digital Key Card against the proximity sensor on the driver’s door handle. To start the car, place the card into the smartphone tray and press the start button. You can verify in the PCM or My Porsche app (tap on the Porsche Digital Key icon on the home screen > Settings icon > Digital Key Card) whether the card is activated or deactivated.
The Porsche Digital Key Card is automatically deactivated when you start your car with your digital key or conventional key.

The mobile devices listed below are officially supported by Porsche. Newer mobile devices may be compatible with the Porsche Digital Key, but Porsche does not officially support them. The Porsche Digital Key uses either Ultra-Wideband (UWB) or Near Field Communication (NFC), depending on the mobile device. With UWB-enabled phones, the Porsche Digital Key works like a classic key fob - you can lock, unlock, and start the car without taking the phone out of their pocket or bag.
*These phones support only NFC and Remote Keyless Entry via Bluetooth Low Energy. To unlock the car, these phones require a physical tap on the door handle or you need to use the Car Control Buttons within the Wallet app. To start the car, these phones need to be placed on the phone cradle.
The following measures will protect you from unauthorised access:
You can still unlock and start your Porsche even if your mobile device appears to be out of battery. Some supported devices – such as iPhones or Android phones – offer a power reserve mode that allows communication with the car via NFC, and on some models using Ultra Wideband (UWB), for a limited time after shutdown. Please refer to your device manufacturer for details on availability and duration of this feature. To unlock and start your car, tap your device near the driver’s door handle and place it in the smartphone tray.
Internet connectivity is required for activation, management, and sharing of the Porsche Digital Key. As soon as the key is installed on your mobile device, a connection is no longer required for locking and unlocking or starting the car. This means you can use the Porsche Digital Key completely independently of the internet, for example in underground garages or places with poor network coverage.
The duration of the validity of a shared Porsche Digital Key cannot be set and has to be revoked manually. To revoke the sharing, please see above ‘How do I delete a shared Porsche Digital Key?’.
You can do this in the PCM of your car. Go on Home to Digital Key and then Manage. Move the toggle button for ‘Digital Key’ to the left and confirm the deactivation in the pop-up. All issued digital keys remain valid but cannot be used while the function is deactivated. To activate all keys again, just move the toggle back to the right.
The Porsche Digital Key is securely stored on the secure element of your mobile device. In addition, both NFC and UWB technology are used to establish the immediate proximity of the sender and receiver in a tamper-proof manner.
Separate digital keys for each car can be created and are managed in the respective Wallet app of your mobile device.
Yes, you will continue to receive a physical key, even if your car is equipped with the Porsche Digital Key. It offers you the full range of functions according to your model equipment and serves as a practical spare key when using the Porsche Digital Key as a main key.
Unpair your mobile device before you sell the car. To unpair your mobile device, delete your Porsche from your Porsche ID. The unpairing will automatically be triggered and all keys will be deleted. Alternatively, you can trigger the unpairing via PCM or via the My Porsche app. To register the new one, you have to do the Owner Pairing with the new owner. For more details see above.

Furthermore, the Porsche Digital Key is only available for select cars in select markets and requires a compatible device and an internet connection. Digital car key availability and car controls vary by device manufacturer and require Android 12+. To use car controls, the device must be within range of the car.
