Function on Demand are functions of your Taycan (model years 2020-2024) that you can purchase after delivery of your vehicle and activate over-the-air.

How can I buy Function on Demand?

In the Connect store you can see what Function on Demand services are available for your car. To buy a Function on Demand, go to the Connect Store, select the function, add it to the cart and complete the purchase process.

Since September 2024, Function on Demand is only offered as a purchase for unlimited time with a one-off-payment. Monthly contracts are not available anymore. If you already have a contract with monthly extension, this will continue to remain active.

How do I activate Function on Demand in my vehicle after purchase?

Once you see the notification that the Function on Demand is available in your Porsche Communication Management (PCM), proceed as follows:

Ensure your car is parked with the parking brake engaged

Make sure your Taycan is connected to the internet. Deactivate the private mode, if set

Turn your car off by pressing the start button for at least one second

You will then be informed about start prevention and installation duration

Leave the car and lock it

Installation will start. Once the installation process has started it can’t be cancelled

When you start your Taycan again you will be informed in the PCM that the installation was successful

Please note:

If you have any pending security updates the installation will not be started. Do any security updates first.

An installation is only possible if there is no active charging process, so please first disconnect from any charging connection.

How do I cancel and deactivate a Porsche Function on Demand monthly subscription?

If you don’t require the Function on Demand anymore or if you sell your car, you can cancel the monthly contract.

Please note that since September 2024, the monthly contract is no longer available for sale. After cancellation of an already active contract, which renews automatically on a monthly basis, you can only purchase a function on demand for an unlimited time with a one-off payment.

Step 1: cancel your monthly Function on Demand contract in the Connect Store

Go to My active contracts in the Connect Store (login required)

Click Cancel contract for the Function on Demand that is to be deactivated

Confirm the deactivation in the pop-up

The contract end date is then displayed in the My active contracts page

You will receive a confirmation of the deactivation via email.

Step 2: deinstall Function on demand in the PCM of your Taycan

At the end of the contract, the function is removed from the car. Make sure that private mode is not active, connectivity is available, the parking brake is on and the car is currently not charging. The following video shows the deinstallation process step by step.

Frequently asked questions

If the Function on Demand is not displayed in the Connect Store after you have logged into My Porsche, the car is not eligible for Function on Demand. This may be because you already purchased the function when you bought the car, or your car might not have the necessary hardware preconditions to use Function on Demand.

The Function on Demand is only visible in the PCM after it has been purchased in the Porsche Connect Store. Make sure that the following preconditions are met:

Your Taycan is connected to the internet

Private mode is deactivated

If the Function on Demand is still not displayed in the car, please contact Porsche customer service (details below).

You will be billed for Function on Demand as soon as you activate the function in your car.

If you registered for an unlimited time period for a Function on Demand – which is available in some countries – you can’t cancel it when you sell your car. The function remains valid for the service life of the car. If you have a monthly contract, which renews automatically on a monthly basis, you will need to cancel the contract.
