Charging Timer/Profile

If you’re charging at home or at a public charging station with AC charging, one reason why the charging process may not be able to start is that a charging timer or profile has been activated. In this case, select the Direct Charging function in your vehicle’s Porsche Communication Management (PCM) infotainment system: tap the Charge Icon and then select Direct Charging.

Check that the charging plug is correctly inserted

If the charging plug is not correctly locked in the vehicle, it won’t be possible to start charging and the vehicle will display a red LED in the charging socket. To ensure that the charging plug is locked correctly, listen out for a clicking sound, which is the security pin engaging. The correct sequence of plugging in the cable and starting the charging process is usually explained on the charger. In the case of an error, follow the order recommended at the charger.

Too many authentication requests

If there are within a few seconds too many authentication requests at a public charging station (for example, too many attempts with your card or app), there may be problems getting the charging process to start. In this case, wait for a minute and try again: return the cable to the station, authenticate once more and replug the cable into the car.
