Charging Functions

Your Macan offers a comfortable driving and charging experience, with automated charging functions that operate autonomously in the background.

Features such as preconditioning and battery protection help optimise charging times and improve energy efficiency.

You can tailor the settings to suit your needs – for example, by creating charging profiles or defining your preferred target state of charge (SoC)

Create Charging Profiles

In the PCM, you can save different charging profiles for various day-to-day situations — such as for home, work, or public charging points. The benefit: You don’t need to reconfigure settings every time — just save and recall your profile for efficiency.

A charging profile can store:

Charging time windows Charging power Charging mode (“Immediate” / “Scheduled”) Target SoC Pre-conditioning

Path in PCM: PCM > Vehicle > Charging > Charging Profiles

Set Target State of Charge

You can define how much charge you want the battery to reach—whether charging at a public station or at your home wallbox.

In the PCM, set your target SoC using a slider. Alternatively, you can configure it via the My Porsche App

Additionally, you can define the desired charge level upon arrival at your destination. Enter the arrival SoC in the Charging Planner, which will take this into account through intelligent planning of charging stops along your route.

Activate Battery Protection

Function path in PCM:

PCM > Charging > Overview > Settings > Battery Protection

Your Macan has a high range, typically more than sufficient for everyday use. You’re likely to use charging stations or your wallbox less often than you might expect. If you don’t need the full 100%, there’s no reason to always charge to 100% — in fact, charging the battery to only 80% for everyday use actively extends its lifespan.

The Battery Protection function limits the maximum charge level to 80% SoC by default. If you're planning a long trip, you can manually override this limit at any time — just adjust the SoC slider or the charging profile. At the next restart, the 80% limit will be re-enabled if Battery Protection remains active.

Your Macan also continuously optimises battery temperature, even when the drivetrain is off — perfect for long periods of inactivity or extreme outdoor temperatures.
