What is Porsche Car Connect and how do I activate it?

The Porsche Car Connect service offers Remote Services, Safety Services and Security Services that are operated via the My Porsche app. These services allow you to access important vehicle data and functions, tracking your car if it’s stolen or automatically alerting your national Operations Centre in the event of an accident.

How do I activate Porsche Car Connect?

To use Porsche Car Connect services through your My Porsche app (Apple App Store/Google Play Store)*, you will first need to activate them. Please follow these steps to create your Porsche Car Connect account and activate the services:

If you have not already done so, you will need to register with My Porsche in order to receive your Porsche ID. Information on how to add your vehicle to My Porsche, please refer to How can I add and manage my vehicles in My Porsche? You can then create your Porsche Car Connect account on the Porsche Car Connect website and add your vehicle to your account. Once your vehicle has been added, select it and the installation code (also called activation code) will be displayed in red letters below (see image). Next, you will need to arrange for a workshop visit at your Porsche Centre and supply them with the installation code. With this code your Porsche Centre will then complete the configuration and activation process for your vehicle. After the Porsche Centre has successfully completed the activation process, you will receive an SMS with the activation confirmation. Your Porsche Car Connect will then be activated and Remote, Safety and Security Services will then be available to you in the My Porsche App.

* Please note that the Porsche Car Connect app is no longer available. Instead, Porsche Car Connect services are accessed through the My Porsche app.

How can I manage my Porsche Car Connect services?

You can access and manage information about your Porsche Car Connect services, like the following, on the Porsche Car Connect website:

The contract status for your car.Subscription information, such as the expiry date of your Porsche Car Connect contract or when a free trial period for Remote, Safety or Security services is coming to an end.The number of activated phones connected to the My Porsche app. General information, such as the version of the My Porsche app you are using or to retrieve information about the Porsche Car Connect (PCC) server status.

There are three main Porsche Car Connect services in the My Porsche App:

Remote Services: Remote vehicle access, like checking your tyre pressure Safety Services: Airbag deployment - notification monitored by our Secure Operating Centre. Telematics Breakdown call. Security Services: 24/7 Vehicle Tracking system - monitored by our Secure Operating Centre.

Withdrawing from the Porsche Car Connect service

If you no longer want to use the Car Remote or Car Security services, you can ask to withdraw from the services on the Porsche Car Connect website no later than 28 days after buying Car Remote or Car Security.

Terminating a contract

Termination of Car Remote and Car Security services can be done by deactivating the auto-renewal option for the services in the My Porsche app. Alternatively, our customer service (contact details below) can terminate a Porsche Car Connect service for you. The cancellation will need to be submitted in written form.

If you can’t use the Remote and Security Services in the My Porsche app, please try the following:

Make sure that you are using the latest version of the app and that it has previously worked before. If required, then please try again once the app has been updated. Use the online support portal to check the activation and availability status of your remote services contract. Check that the Privacy Mode is not switched on and that your remote access authorisation has been granted. Firstly – and importantly – do not cancel Car Security if your vehicle is stolen and in theft mode. If you do this, the mode will no longer be usable and your car cannot be tracked.

Please note: if you’ve suffered a theft of your car, you will not be able to purchase PVTS after the event.
