Resolving Remote Services Issues in the My Porsche app

Porsche Connect Remote Services allow you to remotely operate certain vehicle functions and view vehicle data directly in the My Porsche app. For example, you can check your vehicle's location and control air conditioning or heating functions from the convenience of your smartphone.

This article applies to all models

Below you will find an overview of possible causes of errors with remote services and how you can resolve them.

For Remote Services, your vehicle must be linked to your Porsche ID, and you must have an active Porsche Connect subscription. If you haven’t yet granted remote access, a notification will appear on your app’s home screen. If you are a secondary user, ensure the main user has set up your access in the app.

If remote functions are grayed out, privacy mode might be on. A shield icon on the home screen indicates this. For instructions to turn off privacy mode, refer to What is the privacy mode and what is it used for?.

If Porsche Connect Services are inactive or expired, an info icon will display below the vehicle name on your app’s home screen. Click this icon for further instructions and a link to the Porsche Connect Store

Sometimes refreshing or reinstalling the My Porsche app can resolve issues.

Ensure the app is up to date by checking your smartphone's app store Refresh the app, or uninstall and reinstall it if issues persist

Verify stable internet access on both your phone and car. Connection status can be seen on the app’s home screen, above the vehicle name.

If you recently reset your security code, it can disconnect Remote Services, as it unlinks your Porsche ID from the car. For more, see How to use the Porsche Security Code?
